Sugar Works (Co) founder, Elia Wallace, is a certified and beloved Body Sugar Practitioner in the adventurous, picturesque mountains and valleys of the Fraser Valley, British Columbia. She has been sugaring clients since 2015.

Passionate about client experience and high performance, Elia spent many years using a variety of professional sugaring pastes in her career and took note of how each paste was slightly different, some were great, some not so...and the prices of some were just a bit out of reach.

Elia made a personal goal to design her own line of professional body sugar pastes to help her improve results for her loyal clients, while saving her business time and money. With the help of her husband John, this goal became a reality. Amidst the global pandemic in 2020, Elia and John took a risk and started to experiment!

Sugar paste is actually one of the most difficult products in the cosmetics market to produce in large quantities which they found out quickly during numerous trials, many variations of recipes and wasted batches of paste during the early development stages. During the trial process and thanks to the collaboration of five local sugaring businesses, there were more than nine Sugaring Practitioners testing and giving feedback along the way. After tweaking their recipes and of course spending long days, sleepless nights and even a second-degree burn (sugar paste is created at extremely high temperatures), they finally came up with the perfect blend.

Clients and peers were surprised at how well it worked, even on the toughest and shortest of hairs. Elia was surprised at how much less effort it now required as she only had to mold once or twice during application - allowing for improved technique, less waste and shorter appointments. In regard to pricing, she has made it her mission to produce an affordable and reliable paste for businesses as well as offer free shipping of orders over $200.
